To the Customers of Patriot Bank - Insurance - Realty

Patriot Bank and its divisions: Patriot Insurance, Patriot Realty and Patriot Investments value you as a customer and respect your right to privacy. We recognize that you use our services and trust that we will stand behind our promises. In turn, we pledge our commitment to treating your information responsibly. Patriot Bank, Patriot Insurance, Patriot Realty and Patriot Investments have established the following policy to assure you that we are committed to protecting your privacy.
Your Right to Financial Privacy
You have the right to know the privacy policies and practices of the financial institutions you deal with in respect to information sharing with both affiliates and nonaffiliated third parties. Use, Collection and Retention of Customer Information
 
We collect, retain, and use information about our customers only where we believe it to be useful to proved services, products or other opportunities to our custoemrs. We use information to protect and administer your records, accounts and funds in compliance with cerain laws and regulations. We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
 
  • Information we receive from you on applications and other forms;
  • Information from processing your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others;
  • Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.

 

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers, except as permitted by law. If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive customer, we will adhere to the privacy policies and practices as described in this notice.

 

Providing Information to Others

 

We do not reveal customer information to affiliates or nonaffiliated third parties for their independent use. If we do provide customer information to a third party as described below, we will insist through a written agreement that the third party adheres to privacy principles similar to those we adhere to.

We provide information:

 

  • To help complete customer initiated transactions.
  • When a customer requests or permits it.
  • To comply with a law, regulation, court order or subpoena.
  • To credit bureaus.
  • To local, state and federal authorities if we believe a crime may have been committed involving your account
  • To verify existence of your account to a merchant or other financial institution.
  • In response to an inquiry about your current sufficient funds to cover a check you have written.
  • To paying agencies, such as Social Security, after the death or incapacity of a recipient or beneficiary of a
  • recurring direct deposit.
  • To our independent auditors, consultants or attorneys and to our regulators.

 

Confidentiality and Security

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We train all employees as to the importance of customer privacy and confidentiality. In order to maintain security regarding your personal and financial information we have physical electronic and procedural safeguards in place that comply with federal standards to guard your information. All operational and data processing systems are in a secure environment that protects your account information from being accessed by unauthorized third parties. We maintain and grant access to customer information only in accordance with internal security standards.

 

Definitions

We will use certain terms in this notice that are defined as the following:

We, our and us. This will always mean Patriot Bank, Patriot Insurance, Patriot Realty and Patriot Investment Center.


You and Your. This means our customers with whom we have a continuing relationship through one or more accounts, and also consumers who may use a service we provide (such as an ATM) without any real account relationship or someone who may have applied for a loan or insurance policy but was declined.


Publicly available information. Information that is lawfully available to the general public from official public records (such as real estate records or security filings), information from widely distributed media (such as telephone books, television, radio or newspaper) or information that is required to be disclosed to the general public by Federal, State or Local law (such as securities filings).

 

Nonpublic personal information. Personally identifiable financial information that is not available from public sources (as described above).

 

Affiliate. Any company under common control with another company. Nonaffiliated third party. Any person(s) or corporate entity that is not an affiliate or is not a joint employee of a financial institution and a third party.

Consumer reporting agency. A person or business that makes a practice of collecting and evaluating consumer credit information for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports to third parties.
